It is with deepest regret that the Singing Nuns announce the cancellation of their annual Christmas Evermore Concert. While we cannot share our Christmas music live, you are more than welcome to purchase one of Christmas recordings.

Our gift to you in lieu of our concert is a video from one of our past Christmas concerts:

You are all in our prayers during these difficult times. Lets make up for this loss by making Christmas even bigger in our hearts and in our homes.

Portico Restoration Benefit Concert and Dinner

The porticoes at Mount St. Michael, our beloved historic home, are falling down. Literally. Both porticoes have been shored up to make access to our school, convent and church safe, but it is only a temporary fix, and an eyesore. The figures drawn up by a local contractor are daunting, but as St. Teresa of Avila once said, "With God and two cents, one can do anything." So with our two cents, we hosted a benefit dinner and concert on Monday, December 30th at Mount St. Michael.

The dinner began with hors d'oeuvres and some instrumental entertainment in Warrior's Hall at 5:30 PM, followed by a five course meal, prepared by chef Joe Morgan with the assistance of the Sisters, served in the Dining Hall along with a Singing Nuns concert.

The Sisters thank all those who supported this event, whether by attending, or by assisting us behind the scenes. You are helping to preserve one of Spokane's beautiful historic sites.

What's was the menu? After the hors d'oeuvres, guests were treated to a warming French onion soup, followed by scallops & risotto. Before the entree appeared, a mouth watering Riviera salad was served. The entree was steak, served with "potato on the half shell" and grilled asparagus. Dessert was a delightful homemade tiramisu.

God bless our guests! It was a wonderful evening for all; a night to be remembered.

Can you help us make our dreams come true?

What do Sisters dream about? Our convent provides for all of our basic necessities, and those who know us, know that it doesn't take much to make us happy. But on a more practical level, when our beloved 100+ year old building is falling apart, we do dream of keeping it beautiful for years to come, for generations to come.

When our elevator broke down, at the time the oldest operating elevator in Spokane, it took us several years to be able to raise the funds to replace it, causing a great inconvenience to many, and depriving the handicapped the privilege of visiting our chapel on the second floor. But the money was raised, thanks be to God and the many generous benefactors. The next big project was the stained glass windows restoration project, whose price tag came to over $100,000! Many fundraising efforts and charitable contributions made that possible, too.

And now? Our porticoes are in disrepair. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated, and our thanks goes out to those who have already dipped into their pocketbooks to help.

Thank you!

Our Christmas concerts were a success, thanks to your support. It is a blessing to see so many smiling faces in the audience. A special thank you to the local businesses that sponsored the event; to our students who helped behind the scenes, to our lights, sound and staging crew, to Edward Myers, our accompanist, to those who helped with baking, and provided meals for the Sisters, and to all who played a part in "Only a Baby Came."
